How This Planner Works
Start with your people
Add everyone in your gift circle. Include birthdays if you want, but it's not required. The planner works with just names. You can always add details later.
Log gifts as you go
After each birthday or holiday, log what was given. Pick the recipient, the giver, the occasion, and what it was. Over time this builds a complete picture of your group's gift history.
Check the rotation
The sidebar shows who hasn't received anything in a while. People at the top of the list are your best candidates for the next gift. This keeps things fair without you having to remember.
Avoid common mistakes
Most friend groups fall into patterns: always giving gift cards, always spending the same amount, or always shopping at the same store. The history view helps you spot these habits so every gift feels fresh.
Common Scenarios
Two birthdays in the same week
Log both gifts separately. The rotation will show both recipients as recently gifted, so you can focus on the next person who's been waiting.
A group gift where everyone chips in
Log it once with the recipient and pick one person as the giver. Add a note listing all contributors. For budget tracking, divide the total by the number of contributors.
Someone new joins the group
Add them to the member list. They'll appear at the top of the rotation since they have no gift history yet. Perfect time to plan a welcome gift.
You want to start fresh for a new year
Export your current data first as a backup. Then clear the history and keep the member list. Your group stays, but the gift log resets.

- Can my whole group use this together?
- The planner lives in one browser. To share, export the JSON file and send it to a friend. They import it into their own browser and pick up where you left off.
- What if we have a big group of 10 or more?
- The planner handles any size group. For large groups, consider splitting into smaller circles or using the filter to focus on specific people.
- Does it work for Secret Santa too?
- It's not a Secret Santa generator, but you can use the history to make sure your Secret Santa pick hasn't already received something from you recently.
- What about gifts between two people, not the whole group?
- Log them the same way. The tracker doesn't distinguish between group gifts and one-on-one gifts. It just records who gave what to whom.
